Each year, Strix manufacture millions of 360 degree cordless controls at their factory on the Isle of Man for assembly into kettles from small appliance manufacturers around the world.

Origin has worked closely with Strix for many years to promote this and other emerging control technologies. We do this by a process of dialogue and conceptual study, first to structure the brief and then to design a "selling vehicle". The engineering is world-class - we aim to compliment it with striking product design.

The domestic kettle market has become saturated in recent years. When competition is fierce, it is time to re-think the needs of the consumer.

As far as we know, this was the first glass jug kettle design, a premium product with some unique features including under-floor neon lighting, a dishwasher proof jug, and a control system which requires no switches.
